TiE SoCal Bring Back Blessings With Hot Meal Drive

When: Sunday from 7 – 12 pm
There are three shifts:
6:30 – 10 am: Kitchen (7 – 10 volunteers, men needed)
8:30 – 11 am: Packing (15 – 20 volunteers, ideal for kids as well)
9:30 – 12 am: Distribution (men needed for heavy lifting)

What: Prepare 1500 – 2000 plant-based meals, pack them in individual containers, and distribute them to the organizations that take them out to their communities.

We serve 10 – 15 organizations every weekend covering the streets of Long Beach, Los Angeles (Skidrow and surrounding areas, El Puente, Koreatown, Whittier, Santa Monica), Orange County homeless shelters, Downtown Women’s Center, Covenant House, and so on.

On Thanksgiving Day, we plan on preparing 5000 meals at Norwalk and those meals will go to LA, OC, San Diego, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties.

Each meal costs us $1.50, so per weekend, the cost comes out to $2300 – 3000.
